Personnel changes at BIS in the UK

Following the acquisition of HG Group by BIS ATG, Duncan Hall is appointed as Managing Director of BIS ATG Limited. Over the next 3 months the acquired businesses of HG Group will be integrated into the BIS ATG legal entity and re-branded. Duncan will lead the integration and merger process and operate the combined operations as Managing Director. Rob Rushton, previously MD of BIS ATG, will continue to work in the business focusing on HSEQ performance of the combined business. The two previous principle shareholders of HG Group, Graham Stevens and Dave Henery, receive a warm welcome on joining BIS

Bilfinger Berger Industrial Services increases E&IC expertise in the UK with acquisition of HG GroupMunich. 9 October 2012. The Bilfinger Berger Industrial Services Group (BIS Group) is acquiring the HG Group, a specialist in system integration and automation in the United Kingdom. HG Group has 100 employees across three operating companies which generate revenues of some EUR 15 million. This acquisition will further strengthen the BIS group’s UK control and instrumentation business within BIS ATG. The companies will merge in January 2013 to form the market leading control and automation services company for the UK and overseas process industry. The

HG Systems received the award for the delivery of an energy saving application at a major UK defence manufacturer. The project involved the upgrade of a boiler house and the control of temperature in several large buildings. The previous installation had a simple steam valve and thermostat that were not energy efficient increasing the costs to the defence manufacturer. Systems ImplementationHG Systems were appointed to provide several of the Siemens based systems. The control and monitor of the new boiler now uses an S7 300 and WINCC System and each outlying building uses a Siemens S7 1200 controller with a KP300

Siemens Best Solution Partner Award 2011
The Siemens Best Factory Automation Solution Partner Award was presented to HG Systems by Juergen Maier, Siemens UK Industry Sector MD on 1st March this year. Sales Director Altaf Rahman and Engineering Manager Phil Thompson accepted the award on behalf of HG Systems at a ceremony at the Royal York Hotel, following a two-day conference at the venue.
HG Systems were presented the Siemens Award to demonstrate the faith and trust they have in the solutions designed and implemented by HG using their products .

HG Systems Ltd, the UK’s largest independent control systems integrator, hosted its second seminar at the Wilton Centre in May, gaining excellent feedback from delegates.
Representatives from businesses across the UK travelled to Wilton to learn about “Process Solutions You Trust,” presented in conjunction with HG Systems Ltd’s strategic partner Siemens. The two companies have worked together for more than 30 years, which last month culminated in HG Systems Ltd being named by Siemens as the UK’s Best Systems Integrator, in a national award ceremony.

HG Systems have recently won a contract in Jordan for the installation of a fault tolerant Rockwell system for a phosphate mine cooling tower application. The project includes a control panel with PLC equipment and all plant interface hardware. The SCADA system is a Rockwell FactoryTalk solution which also includes the Rockwell Historian (Process Book) add-on for historical reporting and shift reports detailing important plant parameters. This recent success builds upon the install base and reputation HG Systems has established in the Middle East over the past 30 years.

Major Food Manufacturer Selects HGS to Upgrade their Control Systems

We are proud to announce that a major UK food manufacturer has selected HG Systems to upgrade their refrigeration control system using Siemens S7 PLCs and WinCC HMIs. HGS was selected above their competitors because they proposed a innovative solution using the Siemens Downtime Product that addressed the needs of the client.
The move to have HG Systems install S7 PLCs and WinCC HMIs has been made as part of a plan to implement site wide SCADA information management systems, which upon completion will be fully integrated with the existing global parent company systems.
