HG Systems have performed various Wind Farm Switchgear and Substation monitoring projects for a number of different contractors in the energy sector including; Balfour Kilpatrick, Areva, Scottish and Southern Energy

As a support contractor to Scottish and Southern Energy we have carried out a variety of support functions on a number of different installations including:
- Balfour Kilpatrick, Whitelee Wind farm
- Areva T&D, Robin Rigg Wind farm
- Areva T&D, Barrow Wind farm
- Scottish and Southern Energy, Tangie Wind farm

Our scope of supply to the wind power generation industry includes:

•   Supply of PLC / SCADA based control, monitoring, alarm and event systems.
•  Interfaces to and setting up of Intelligent Electronic Devices (IED’s) via Ethernet (IEC 61850), Modbus and Profibus DP including Sepams, Micoms, SimeasP Protection relays and others.
• Historians with analysis, reporting and integrated third party information management.
• Interface to third party systems such as National Grid and Turbine controllers.
• Reactive Power Control.
